COVID-19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Covered Bridge Garden Club has adjusted our schedule to include more outdoor events when possible. We will have bottles of hand sanitizer available and will have plenty of room for social distancing. When we are meeting indoors, please use only the chairs set up at each table to ensure safe distancing. Mask wearing is also encouraged while indoors.

Bring small clippers, a tweezers and your CBGC apron!

“Native Spring Ephemerals” by Amy Mawby from Jenkins Arboretum

This presentation on native spring plants by Jenkins Arboretum’s own Amy Mawby should be an especially interesting program for late March, right before these plants are ready to show themselves!

Exhibit theme: “Erin Go Braugh” (Ireland to the end of time) Using green as the predominant color, make an arrangement celebrating the old country. You can use a mix of fresh and faux materials if desired.

Spring Container Make & Take

Gayle Slaybaugh and Sue Strong will guide us in planting a pretty spring container. It will have the best of both worlds, useful herbs AND pretty flowers!

Bring garden gloves, a trowel and your CBGC apron.

Tour of David Culp’s Brandywine Cottage, Downingtown, PA

Experience Brandywine Cottage through the eyes of its creator, David Culp! David is the author of “A Year at Brandywine Cottage” and has lectured nationwide for 25 years about gardening for all seasons. This is truly a special opportunity to meet David and see his own garden in person.

Join us for lunch at a local restaurant, Anthony’s Cucina Fresca, following the tour. We will have a private room with a delicious buffet and cash bar.

Location: specific address and meeting details will be emailed to all planning to attend. Car pooling is encouraged. Tour is limited to 30 people!
